Never mind forced abortion in China, female infanticide in India, and genital mutilation all over the Third World. Never mind a popular culture that tells women that to be fulfilled they must be successful business owners, mothers-of-four, look stunning and have a soap-star lover on the side without turning into stress puppies. A million-and-a-half men on their knees, weeping in silence and repentance is a FAR greater threat!
Now, there WAS some political commentary from the stage in Washington. (I was there, I saw it!) The DC organizers asked attendees with particular polical agendas not to display signs, banners or t-shirts with political slogans during the event. (This, of course, was to make the secret agenda Extra Secret!) Now, then, one speaker did make a negative comment about abortion (of course, people who really believe that humans were created in the image of God tend to oppose abortion, euthanasia, and other forms of violence). Another speaker called on those present to pray for their local, state, and national elected and appointed officials. (Arcane religious rituals - outstretched hands and muttered words - !! - intended to BRING SUPERNATURAL PROTECTION upon - gasp! - LEGALLY ELECTED PUBLIC SERVANTS!) Warning! Warning! Danger, Will Robinson!
PK's secret politcal agenda is SO secret, that despite attending two stadium rallies and the event in DC, reading several PK books, and being active in a men's accountability group (It's really a revolutionary cell! We only PRETEND to share our feelings and failings with other men! HAHAHAHA!) I *still* have to rely on my own judgment in regards to my political views! IMO, the PK leadership is really falling down on the job. All they do is talk about repentance and reconciliation. Why, they won't even send me a form letter to fill out and send to my congressional representatives! And I have yet to receive voting instructions!
Christianity teaches that you cannot earn your heavenly reward; salvation is a gift from God and you can either accept it or reject it. RWP posits that a handout is debilitating, and there is something wrong with you if you accept it.
Jesus himself associated with gluttons, drunkards, prostitutes and tax collectors - Hardly the Moral Majority of his day. His actions in the Temple were decidedly anti-business. And the bit with with the loaves and fishes - from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs - sounds downright Marxist.
